About the Department

Home page

Department of Food and Nutrition aims to develop competent school nutrition teachers and food/nutrition experts, who can respond to growing demands for a healthful dietary life in our society, researchers who develop functional food, or civil servants in the field of hygiene and health, and healthcare experts in various areas.

Funded by the New University for Regional Innovation (NURI) of the Ministry of Education · Human Resources Development, the Project for Developing Competence of Food and Nutrition Majors has effectively assisted graduates in finding jobs in various fields, and also provided a number of benefits.

Since 2010 the Department has offered tailored and on-the-job classes, roadmaps by employment fields, and training by difficulties such as special training (SS), intensive training (S2S), and self-training (for obtaining a license) in an effort to bring change to the Department and offer more promising career choices to students. In particular, students are encouraged to select a major at an early stage in order to enhance their competitiveness, especially through small study groups for research and successful employment ('Endospore/Pioneer/BioNutri-zip') and to make the best use of the employment services designed and offered by the Department, which in turn strengthens communications and interaction with the graduates, students, and enterprises (and public institutions).
