- 전공 자율 선택제, 2+1+1 교육체계, 융합교육인증제 등 2025학년도 신입생 위한 맞춤형 진로설계 지원

국립순천대학교(총장 이병운)는 지난 5월 22일, 2025학년도 전공 자율 선택제 신입생을 대상으로 ‘전공 탐색 및 진로 설계 지원을 위한 설명회’를 개최했다고 밝혔다.

이번 설명회는 교무처와 교육혁신본부가 공동으로 주관했으며, 전공 선택의 자율성과 진로 설계의 유연성을 보장하는 다양한 학사제도 및 프로그램에 대한 이해를 돕기 위해 마련되었다.

설명회에서는 ▲SCNU 2+1+1 교육체계 ▲다전공 제도 및 융합교육인증제 ▲AI 기반 핵심역량 인증제 ▲창의 융합 프로젝트 등 2025학년도부터 적용되는 새로운 학사제도와 지원 프로그램이 소개됐다.

특히 ‘SCNU 2+1+1 교육체계’는 국립순천대학교가 글로컬 교육혁신의 일환으로 설계한 대표적 교육모델로,

- 1단계(전공 탐색 및 전공 기초): 다양한 전공을 탐색하며 진로를 설정하고, 선택한 전공의 기초역량 함양

- 2단계(전공 심화): 주전공 및 다전공(나노·마이크로디그리, 부·복수전공, 융합전공, 연계전공 등)의 심화 학습을 통해 전공에 대한 전문성 강화

- 3단계(전공 실무): 취업, 창업, 진학 등 실질적 진로를 위한 실무형 트랙을 중심으로 운영되는 집중 교육 단계로 구성된다.

국립순천대학교는 지난 2023년 글로컬대학30 선정 이후, 학습자 중심의 유연한 학사 제도를 기반으로 학생의 전공 선택권을 확대하고, 창의적 융·복합 역량을 갖춘 실무형 인재 양성을 위해 교육 혁신을 지속해 오고 있다.

국립순천대 남기창 교학부총장은 “이번 설명회를 통해 신입생들이 새로운 학사제도를 이해하고, 본인의 관심과 역량에 맞는 전공과 진로를 주도적으로 설계하는 데 도움이 되었기를 바란다”라며, “앞으로도 학생 맞춤형 진로 설계와 학습지원 체계를 더욱 강화해 나가겠다”라고 말했다.

Sunchon National University Holds Orientation Session for Freshmen on Major Exploration and Career Planning

- New Academic Programs Including the SCNU 2+1+1 Curriculum and AI-based Competency Certification Introduced 

Sunchon National University (President Lee Byung-woon) announced that it held an orientation session on May 22 for freshmen enrolled in the 2025 academic year under the newly introduced Major Autonomy Track. The session was designed to support students in exploring academic majors and planning their career paths.

Jointly organized by the Office of Academic Affairs and the Center for Educational Innovation, the event aimed to help students understand a range of academic systems and programs that ensure autonomy in major selection and flexibility in career design.

Key topics introduced at the session included: the SCNU 2+1+1 Curriculum, the Double Major and Interdisciplinary Certification Program, the AI-based Core Competency Certification System, and the Creative Convergence Project, all of which will be implemented from the 2025 academic year.

The SCNU 2+1+1 Curriculum, in particular, represents Sunchon National University’s flagship model for glocal educational innovation. It is structured as follows:

＊Phase 1 (Exploration and Foundational Competency Building): Students explore diverse fields of study and build basic competencies in their chosen major. 

＊ Phase 2 (Major Specialization): Students deepen their expertise in their primary and additional majors (including nano/micro degrees, minors, double majors, interdisciplinary or linked majors).

＊ Phase 3 (Practical Training): Students engage in employment, entrepreneurship, or graduate school preparation through intensive, practice-oriented courses.

Following its selection for the Glocal University 30 initiative in 2023, Sunchon National University has continued to implement learner-centered and flexible academic policies that expand students’ autonomy in major selection and foster practical, interdisciplinary talent equipped with creativity and innovation.

Vice President for Academic Affairs Nam Ki-chang commented, “We hope this session helped freshmen better understand the new academic framework and design a personalized academic and career path based on their interests and strengths.” He added, “We will continue to strengthen support systems tailored to students’ career planning and academic success.”
